As a school social worker, I have the opportunity to work with students on developing their coping skills. In this practice, I utilize many different venues in working with students. I am able to individually support students who are having a difficult day and go in to classrooms to work with the whole class. Using the Thumballs, mindfulness cards, and books will help my students develop classroom community and social-emotional skills.
As a school community, we would greatly benefit from additional resources to work on building social emotional skills in our students. With the books, fidgets, and mindfulness activities requested, my students will be able to continue to develop their life skills. I will use these books in working in classrooms and with small groups of students to develop their skills.
