The books selected will expose my students to different genres and writing styles. It will allow students to have the book in hand versus accessing it on the computer on a PDF. I believe having a book in hand will help my students focus on the book instead of being distracted by technology. By expanding the books we have in the classroom, we will expand their reading comprehension and vocabulary which will impact their writing as well. These books will help students with reading comprehension and vocabulary which we have seen a decrease in due to Covid-19 related issues from the past two years. By increasing these areas we will also improve students' writing skills which have suffered from the pandemic. These books will make a huge impact in my class and provide us with several opportunities for discussion and growth.
