The I Survived Series that I chose for this project is a very high interest, historical fiction series that tell a story while teaching about historical events. The kids love them, but they are in high demand in the library and hard to get. My project involves promoting the love of reading by making high interest, quality books available for my students to take home and read. Also, The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series is great for struggling readers, as it has pages with short text and humorous dialogue. It is also a series that deals with the highs and lows of being a kid, which my students really identify with.
