This project will help students have the supplies to create puppets, masks, and create original dramatic characters. They will use them to develop stories, improve reading comprehension and develop their social skills and emotional understanding through drama activities.
These supplies will allow my students endless possibilities to stretch their creative muscles through artistic, dramatic practices. The craft materials will be used by 1-3rd grade students to create puppets, by 4-5th grade students to create masks, and for kindergarten students to create artwork through Story Drama. The speaker allows for creative expression through music with finished puppets and masks. The puppet theater will allow younger students an opportunity to practice their speaking skills through safe creative expression.
These materials will help provide a creative space for the students to explore the arts in public education through hands-on learning. It will also give them a creative outlet to celebrate diversity and build empathy.
