Instruction for diverse learners has the greatest impact when given in a small group. As a teacher I strive to differentiate to the multiple levels of ability presented in my classroom. By working with a lower teacher to student ratio, I can closely monitor student's work and provide immediate feedback.
Your donation will provide the necessary funds to convert our classroom into the small group areas needed to make the most impact on learning. Having a rug area will give our students the opportunity to gather as a group in a more inviting learning space. It will function as a meeting zone where instruction, sharing, and conversation can happen while fostering a sense of community. The classroom library will be along the outer edges of the rug giving the students the opportunity to choose a book of interest. Students can then get comfortable in a bean bage chair while doing independent reading. Participating in daily small group instruction at the kidney table will give students the opportunity to work at their own individual level while at the same time, receiving heightened teacher support.
