I am requesting 36 circuit boards and two boxes of resistors, enough equipment to furnish two conceptual physics classrooms simultaneously. The conceptual physics (CP) program at our school is expanding rapidly. Right now, there are three teachers teaching a total of 13 CP periods in two rooms, simultaneously. We are trying to bring conceptual physics to around 390 students per day! Since the program is new, we are severely under equipped to provide the engaging scientific experience that they need and deserve.
Electricity is an integral part of every student's life, and they need the proper equipment to fully explore and understand this phenomenon. Accordingly, we need these circuit boards to perform a wide variety of engaging experiments involving electric circuits. The students will use these to learn about the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance. Additionally, these circuit boards will provide a means for the students to practice building both series and parallel circuits. The students will be able to observe changes in brightness in light bulbs as they modify their circuits into different configurations.
