I currently have 4 fans in my room and it is not enough. My 5-6 year olds begin to wilt at 10:00am when the thermometer in the classroom reads 85 degrees Fahrenheit. By high noon its 90+ degrees and climbing. Despite our frequent breaks and water bottle forest on our desks, our class is still sweltering.
On Monday during music while we were singing "Pearly Shells", the music teacher was explaining to the class that the "shore" in the song is where there is sand... you know like a desert he said. And a child in my class said it best when responding to this phrase:
"My God, we should have sand in here(our room)....it feels like a desert....its so hot". This is verbatim from the mouth of a 5 year old girl!!!
Please help us take it down a notch or two.
