Teaching virtually is hard on a regular day - doing it with old and outdated equipments only makes it more challenging.
I am requesting an iPad and keyboard for a better functioning and more engaging virtual learning environment. Having a new iPad that does not crash and helps my students see me clearly via the camera, is imperative as my students with special needs need to be engaged constantly - a device that crashes and lags leads to students becoming less engaged and makes it very hard to get them back into the momentum of learning.
As a Special Needs teacher, I have a large number of IEPs to write, and there has been many times that I am writing them and my computer crashes, deleting tons of written work and data which I have to go back and re-do. This makes writing IEP's a much more laborious process than usual.
A new iPad and keyboard will ensure my students can see me clearly as well as help with completing their IEPs efficiently as I will not have to worry about my old lap top crashing.
