Did you know 254 million tons of trash is thrown away every year in the United States? During the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle lesson in my kindergarten class we also discuss the importance of composting. While the school collects compost in the cafeteria, we make a point to collect it after snack time in the classroom as well.
Students will get to see in real time the importance of saving all their compost to be used in flower beds and gardens on school property. While the students are aware of composting they do not understand the process. With these clear composting containers they will be able to observe the various stages of decomposition.
