The requested themed counting games will help my students to learn to love counting. In pre-k, our lessons are theme based throughout the year. One of the games included in my requested will have the students count apples to put on the apple tree. We will use this game when learning about Johnny Appleseed. I find when the students have things that relate to the theme, they show more of an interest. In the past, I have created my own manipulatives, but this is very time consuming.
The students love to count, pattern and sort manipulatives. For example they counted, sorted and made a pattern out of Easter erasers. They had bunnies, chicks, and eggs. This went along with our Spring/Easter theme. I hope to be able to use these counting sets in order to enhance their love of learning!
