With all the distractions in this day and age, I have a great deal of students who struggle with staying focused. Our curriculum requires them to be sitting to complete work throughout much of their day. I have seen students find more success with such tasks while sitting in seats that allow for movement. Students with ADHD benefit greatly from being allowed a way to get out some of their energy while learning, but these Hokki stools are beneficial even for students without ADHD.
Studies show that children actually need to move while performing a difficult task. If they are able to get this movement from a Hokki stool, they are less likely to take part in fidgeting and other off task behaviors.
