My students love to look at books, and have books read to them. We have story time during our day but some crave more. This would give those students an opportunity to listen to multiple books daily! It would also give my emergent readers a chance to follow along and build their vocabulary! They would utilize this center so much during our day. We are really focusing on retelling stories in my classroom and this listening center would reinforce that literacy strategy. The students would get to choose as a group what they wanted to listen to and read that day, it would also reinforce those socializing and working as a team skills.
