The majority (98%) of my super second graders are on free or reduced price lunch. They face challenges that no child should have to go through, and yet they come to school excited and ready to learn. Many of my students are responsible for watching their younger siblings while their parents are at work, and as a result, they may not be able to stay awake during the day. Despite all of the challenges that they face, their hearts remain full of hope and love. I feel that as their teacher, it is my job to foster that hope and help it grow.
