Having four Chromebooks will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. One way the Chromebooks will be used is as a STEM center. Students can look up information/models of the current topic/standards in the classroom and allow for me to differentiate tasks and instruction . Another way they will be used is by recording the results of an experiment. Recently, we discussed how animal traits and characteristics are important to each animal. Students could share pictures and information of pets and wild animals. They can compare and contrast different traits and characteristics of said animals. Students can also use the Chromebook as a means to convey information to their classmates. This skill is important for the 21st Century to allow them the capability of communication needed in their adult life.
These Chromebooks would allow collaboration on group findings by sharing through the cloud/google drive. Allowing the students in my classroom this kind of technology could greatly increase various skills.
The Chromebooks would be beneficial not only for STEM but cross curricula. I could download apps for various math practice skills for a math center, which would allow me to have activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students.
