Research now supports that students in early education learn well through play. I plan to use this sensory table with a variety of different materials to help teach measurement. Volume is one area covered in our math program, and this table would aid in teaching that.
The table will also be used for science experiments. We would be able to experiment with snow/ice to look at the melting process and what effects it. I would like students to explore absorption with spunges and water beads.
Finally, sensory tables offer lots of options for creativity. From sand with construction vehicles, to water with toy sea animals, to rainbow rice, to a mix and measure set I feel my students would love to explore the different things I will use in this sensory table.
