As the school counselor, I work with all (almost 900) students on campus, Pre-K through 5th grade. We are a Title 1- Tier 1 school, with 100% FRL. My students are more resilient than most adults I have come to know; however, they are still kiddos learning how to navigate BIG feelings. These students live in very low-income homes, and many come from families riddled with traumatic situations. These children work through many chaotic experiences, and attempt to put their best faces forward every time they come through our campus gates. These small-humans would greatly benefit from a safe-space on campus where they can learn and practice coping skills that will help them develop into the amazing adults they will be.
