We offer a food and culture class that teaches about cultures from around the world through the lens of food. It is very engaging, and the students get to figuratively travel through the world, learning about diverse cultures.
We make a lot of these dishes in-house but are limited by our cooking supplies. With your help, we would have the materials needed to create many of these dishes inside the classroom.
Culture and food go hand in hand, we trace the roots of food and how a surplus of food allows specialization of labor and builds culture itself.
We look at local ingredients, economies, language, and many more things to make this class really awesome, and yet very academic in nature.
