I am a preschool Speech and Language Pathologist in a small school district in Easthampton, Massachusetts. I work with students varying from mild to moderate disabilities. 61% of students in our district are living in poverty.
I evaluate and treat speech and language disorders including phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), language disorders, and dysfluency. Many of my students are non-verbal and communicate using low-tech or high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices (AAC). My role is to work together with teachers and families to implement a method of communication that is effective and functional.
