The picture books are all about scientists from diverse backgrounds. The hope is to help students see themselves as belonging in S.T.E.M. and in the classroom.
The headphones are to allow students to be able to do their work, as I work to a hybrid classroom. These headphones can be barcoded and formally checked out, if a student needed to take them home.
The prizes are rewards for a gamified classroom. The last 2 years have been difficult, and in searching for a way for students to learn how to engage in the classroom in a positive way I'm gamifying my classroom. Video games and social media have already gamified their lives, so let's use that method to enforce positive engagement. Including if we have to transition to remote learning.
