My boys enjoy learning, especially through technology, but that can only happen when the technology is available. They are very inquisitive as good scientists should be, and most times would love to be able to research answers to the questions that they ask me themselves. This is where the Chromebooks would come into play. The boys would use the Chromebooks to do research science topics that interest them and even when we have class work that requires technology.
We are a STEAM school, I would love for my boys to be as hands-on with the curriculum as possible, which includes research projects. This is not possible when technology is shared between 600 plus students. In order to do those research projects, I would need Chromebooks.
The goal is to eventually have one-on-one technology in the classroom. With Chromebooks in the classroom, this will allow for students to do partner work, as well as allow them access to an abundance of resources needed to research, create, and present awesome projects that I know that they are capable of doing!
