Each of my students should have the same opportunity to learn to read, read independently, and be read to. Although we have group reading and small group reading in our classroom it is difficult to have students read independently and gain momentum and stamina in reading. To spark this interest, start exploring, and create imaginations through comprehension activities offered on the Kindle Fire with QR Codes this can be made possible. My students need the hands on, visual exploration that the Kindle Fire Kids Edition offers. To address their special needs students will be able to learn to access technology, work on fine motor skills, language production, and explore real-world skills and learning. This differentiated learning will allow them the space to read in quiet atmospheres on comfortable seating in our reading station, at their desk, or other flexible seating arrangements. My students deserve an opportunity to build a strong reading foundation to progress towards grade level standards.
