Due to the rapid gentrification of Jefferson's surrounding neighborhood, free and reduced lunch is no longer available for all of my students. This disproportionately affects students of color and students living in poverty.
It is difficult, if not impossible, to focus on learning when students don't have their basic needs met. I keep a small supply of granola bars in my closet, but don't have enough resources to all students. I would also love to be able to supply snacks for students that stay after school for study sessions.
Your donations will help students stay fueled and focused on academics!
