I am requesting shoulder rests, strings, and bows. These materials are consumables that wear out after a couple years of use. It is important to replace these as they wear out so students are learning to play an instrument with properly working equipment.
These items set students up for success when playing an instrument. These materials keep our instruments in working order. Students are far more likely to succeed when their instrument is working properly. When strings or bows wear out, then they no longer produce the correct sound and students become frustrated. They are more likely to quit if they are fighting the instrument to produce a good tone. Giving the student a properly working instrument allows them to produce a good sound which encourages the students to practice.
