Having flexible seating options for my students will help them to remain more focused on their academics. It will create a more comfortable environment for them to learn in. Serving students with special needs increase the need for differentiation in the classroom daily. These resource will allow my students to remain more focused and pay more attention to the task in hand, because different students react differently to different stimulation. The option of "THEM" choosing where them can sit, will give them a sense of independence and empowerment.
It will help to increase student participation, motor skills and the motivation to learn
These resources will be used during Literacy groups, math centers and during independent work stations. Students will have the opportunity to sit in bean bags and ball chairs to alleviate the stress of having to sit in regular chairs and sit still. My students can still be working and be creative while still getting out their sensory impulses.
By donating to our flexible seating project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention, focus and sensory issues but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
