“Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Involve me and I understand” – Chinese proverb. I love this proverb because it speaks the truth and it is why I am asking for help on ǿմý.org. I want my students to be involved so they understand all there is to know about literacy.
My school is a 21st century brand new school and it is beautiful.
The environment is set for optimal learning that provides for teacher and student success. My community is fortunate to have a new school, now the school needs to be filled with hands-on activities that promote independent learning. Materials that involve students to problem solve and think, giving students' opportunities to master literacy skills necessary for future success. My classroom of 22 is filled with 16 sweet energetic boys and 6 equally as energetic girls. It is October and my students are just starting to go outside for recess due to the playground not being ready and problems with rattlesnakes. The start of school was not ideal but we made due with what was available. My students were amazing during this time and I was very proud of them continuing to work hard without many brain breaks. I want to give back to my amazing students by providing them with the best literacy centers available.
My students need Rhyming Books, Sight Word Puzzles, Letter Sound Matching Boards and Alphabet Games Learning Tablet to increase their literacy knowledge.
