I hope to create a learning environment where children develop a life long love of learning by using multiple sensory pathways
Brain research supports the idea that children learn best by using their senses. It is through this kind of sensory play that they develop cognitive skills, social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and emotional skills. We now know that scientist, based on their studies of the brain, believe that in order for the brain to build nerve connections and pathways, it needs stimulation in the form of movement and sensory experiences. These pathways are what make it possible for students to later complete more complex skills when they mature. (Greenough & Blake 1992)
