These informational and social story books are specifically selected to enable my students to choose books that teach them that reading nonfiction is fun! By having a wide variety of these books in my classroom library, students can check them out, enjoy them at school, and take them home to read to and with their families. The students also gain access to more information about topics they learn about in social studies and science. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to react when they disagree with another person as well as about rocks and other earth materials.
This project will benefit my students by putting more quality informational books in their hands so they can enjoy reading at school and at home. They will learn about topics we study as well as how to deal with social situations and feelings they experience. My students will benefit immensely both socially and academically from the experiences that this project will provide.
