Kindergarteners are active learners. They need movement and choices in order to truly learn new material. Donating clipboards to my students will allow them to clip their papers onto a hard surface so that they may travel around the classroom or work in a cozy area to complete their work, opposed to sitting in their chairs for long periods of time. Allowing students to move around the classroom during independent practice times will create a comfortable and safe learning environment.
Children need to be exposed to a wide variety of books in order to learn how to be successful readers and writers. By donating books to our classroom, you will be giving my students the ability to read a wide variety of books that will inspire them to be amazing readers and writers. My students love reading and really look forward to going to the library to pick out books that interest them. They would really benefit from having a wider variety of texts to choose from in the classroom. Donating big books will allow my students to learn important tips and strategies during our shared reading times.
