Tubano drums will be used to help students reinforce new rhythmic concepts. Students will use them to practice known patterns, and to improvise new patterns using known and unknown rhythmic ideas. Students will also use the drums to improvise patterns to accompany movement activities, and in formal performances.
Recorders will be available to students who cannot afford to purchase their own personal instrument. Recorder playing helps develop breath control, music reading skills, and solo and ensemble performance skills.
These instruments will help students create and express their own musical ideas. Students will gain confidence in their musical and performance abilities.
