About my class
These laptops will make a difference in our students鈥 leaning and improve their school lives by providing differentiated instruction during various subjects. Our school has a reading intervention program that is technology based that has been proven to increase students鈥 reading levels. 50% of my students are at least 1 year behind their grade level in reading comprehension, so with these added technology pieces, more students can receive differentiated instruction. Giving students technology, that most don鈥檛 have access to at home, provide motive for attending school and engaging multiple intelligences across the classroom. Using various websites for personal tutoring, Brain Pop and Ten Marks, for example, can be used for individual learning opportunities without holding other students who may not need the extra help. Finally, having multiple technology sources in my room will try and help to make state assessments easier on the students. Our school does not have the technology usage for students to practice and become familiarized with the layout and language of the state test. With these devices, students can work in small group to complete practice tests and assignments to familiarize themselves with the state assessments.
