These books will allow students to read about people who are like them and help to celebrate their diversity. Seeing characters that look like them will encourage them to experience all that the book has to offer. Students will understand that kindness for all cultures, skin colors and beliefs are important and it's what helps to make our county unique. These books will allow me as the teacher to share with them about things that I have not experienced myself. Having these books on display in my room will help to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for all my students.
