We want to become a "Certified Kind Classroom" by reading the book, Wonder by R. J. Palacios, and by completing specific kindness activities. This is an initiative that is sweeping the country as teachers from all over are joining in. Reading this book will bring so much to my students. We will be brought together by our reading and discussions, we will apply our literacy skills to the reading each day, and we will explore the many facets of acceptance and kindness. I can't wait to start this novel study and our goal is to finish it before the movie premieres on November 17, 2017. How exciting it will be for students to have completed this project and then enjoy the movie with family! Their understanding and experience will be dramatically enhanced by participating in this project.
