Our community of high school students diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome/High Functioning Autism transitioning to post secondary goals require laptops to succeed! The need for students to to be proficient with 21st Century Academic and Career Technology goals are well researched.
The need for students with special needs to have access to technological tools that support access to academic curriculum and career technology resources is evident. Technological prowess is also a critical skill for career development and access to opportunities to secure independence. Your donations will provide huge steps toward our goal for equity and independence! The students will use the laptops to:
1. Complete classwork, homework and research curriculum necessary for graduation requirements.
2. Research and apply for colleges / universities and stay in continual communication with university officials.
3. Research and remain in close communication with community based agencies to support independence.
4. Successfully engage with college curriculum and develop technological skills critical for 21st Century academic and professional success.
