We need 15 Ukulele's for all 5th Graders in our Title 1 high poverty school. Students will be receiving instruction in music classes 1-2 times a week on the ukulele.
Students cannot afford instruments in our neighborhood.
We are at the highest poverty level, 98% free and reduced lunch.
Music brings all of our cultures together. Students will learn multicultural songs on the ukulele.
Students will learn how to tune the ukulele and sing and play at the same time.
STEM includes the science of sound. Learning how to tune the ukulele and why the strings work the way they do increase spatial awareness and listening skills.
