Everyday I call my students over to the "carpet" area of our class to share in stories, cooperative writing and mini lessons.
Sadly due to the lack of a class rug our carpet area is a taped off portion of the carpet in our class. Without a colorful carpet my students often feel squished and forget to leave personal space between them.
The addition of a class rug would improve student focus and engagement as well as give everyone a place to learn. The rug would also cover up the extension cord running through our meeting area providing needed safety.
