Using Scholastic News magazines in my classroom will allow all of the third grade students to create and build real-world connections that they may never hear about otherwise. Scholastic News is an excellent source of information on current world events that my students crave to read about. These non-fiction magazines will be key to increasing my students' reading, writing, and speaking skills in their English language development. Reading about fascinating scientific discoveries in kid-friendly text will further fuel their love for science and foster a philosophy of inquiry. Creating real-world connections through reading is key for success.
