Technology is advancing each and everyday. I do my best to keep moving forward with technology in my classroom. Interactive boards are great but when we can make our boards interactive with a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet and a Chromecast it advances it more. It will allow me to move about my classroom and not be stuck to the front of my room. I will be able to cast my lessons on the board in my room and use the laptop/tablet to move about the room and write on it with the stylus to work as I move.
This not only keeps the students engaged by handing the tablet to one of them to work problems for the class, but increases classroom management. The headphones will allow students to listen to stories in small group centers with using the headphone junction box with volume control for each set of headphones. In order for my students to get to a quiet area in my classroom, I need an extension cord to reach my CD player. My students love getting to listen to audio books. It really helps for my auditory learners.
