By having alternative seating in the classroom, students are free to make a choice of which seating arrangement will work best for their learning. I will begin by teaching them how to make appropriate choices for their choice of seating, and how it can help them to be more successful in the classroom.
Stools, balance chairs, discs and fidget bands will help raise student engagement and allow the students to be more successful. Having flexible seating in my classroom will help reduce the number of behaviors that occur on a day to day basis, because they will have the opportunity to use/let out their energy at the seat they have chosen. Students will be able to spread out and work in a more comfortable area.
