Our school provides each teacher with a case of paper, which amounts to about 40 sheets per student. Without readily available computers, tablets, a whiteboard, or textbooks, our curriculum relies heavily on students creating interactive science notebooks.
A document projector would allow me to easily demonstrate steps and share student exemplars on our smart-board. With the addition of pens and pencils, students will never have an excuse for being unprepared for class and can develop their executive functioning capacity. Colored pencils will engage them and help build buy-in. Additional copy paper will allow me to provide them with appropriate texts related to the subjects we are studying so that they can annotate and highlight, building stronger literacy skills.
