This project is a response to Douglas Wood's "A Quiet Place", where they discover their own quiet place through reading, writing and painting. These art materials will make it possible for our students to develop and have a sense of awareness of themselves and their surrounding environment.
The students, after completing a 6 week unit of study, will have the opportunity when provided with these art supplies, to create their own visual masterpiece of their quiet place. This self awareness and use of expression will benefit them in all focuses of their educational journey.
This project is both a written and visual expression of their understanding of what a where their quiet place is.
