My students spend too much time each day sitting in traditional school chairs at desks or tables. They become uncomfortable and this impacts their desire and ability to learn. Certain types of lesson are best done around a table; I have the same boring and uncomfortable chairs around the table in my classroom that they use in their home classroom. We have decorated the chairs with stickers on the back and tennis balls on the legs but it creates no true difference in the seating.
To provide a true seating alternative to my students I would like provide Gaiam Kids Balance Ball Chairs for my students. These chairs are specifically designed you young students to promote healthy posture and to help keep minds focused. For students who have difficulty sitting for extended time periods having a desirable alternative will continue to promote students desire to participate in instruction and learning.
