I teach bilingual, Spanish and English language arts classes for grades 6-7. I have about 50 students of all different English language abilities. They range from students who are ready to exit the bilingual program to a monolingual English classroom, to students who have just arrived new to the United States a week ago. Our school district is urban, where most students speak Spanish only at home and there is a big influx of immigrants that arrive from Spanish speaking countries.
