I would like to offer 20 minutes of yoga and meditation every morning before the school day starts. Yoga decreases stress and anxiety, improves memory and attention spans, improves balance and posture, promotes mindfulness, and encourages self-love and self-care.
Every day students would have an opportunity to center themselves and stretch their bodies. I have taught meditation and yoga as an elective class at my school, and it always fills up super fast. Last year we had to throw out our 20 year old mats because they were moldy. We would love to be able to provide mats for students and staff to use.
