This project will teach students to tell stories that reflect their personal voice through Urban Dance.
Urban Dance is a form of artistic expression that combines kinesthetic interpretation, choreography that reflect regional music styles.
This project will connect community based organizations with our students and their families. Student will learn to share their stories by creating performances that are relevant in their lives.
Goals for the project are to increase student GPAs as well as the number of classes students pass by the end of the school year. Students will achieve these goals though daily tutoring, check-ins with coaches, peers and parents.
This project is designed to inspire students who are marginalized to discover their personal voices and to use that voice to "hold space" in their community by sharing personal narratives through dance. Students will engage peers, family and the community while utilize auto system during performances.
