Students need variety in every facet of their day in order to keep things fresh and inspire growth.
Working outside out of a traditional classroom setting and moving will stimulate their brains in a positive way.
Kettle-bells can be used for kettle-bell swings. Ab-mats help support a healthy spine position while doing sit-ups. (They are also fun for a game where you hold it like a pizza box). The speed ropes will be able to be customized to fit the students and work much better for speed training than the traditional red/white beaded ropes.
Studies have shown that exercise before or after learning helps to solidify previous learning and cement new learning.
Equipment for high intensity training and fitness is something new that these kids have not yet seen. This creates novelty and buy in.
I have a wide range of abilities, ages, and strengths of students in my PE classes. This requires me to have a variety of equipment in order to keep them engaged and using appropriate weights
