I want to provide my students with opportunities to see themselves as artists and to see how other artists approach art making. Literacy is important to me and over the years, I have been collecting books that I love to share with my students. They enjoy looking through books for inspiration. Books are also a great resource when students are looking for how to draw something.
A bookcase in the art room will enable me to display books that are relevant to what I am teaching and relevant to what my student artists are interested in. It would give students a place to browse topics of interest and provide inspiration for the artwork they create.
