Third grade students are required to complete a Read to Achieve portfolio throughout the school year. There are 12 standards that students must master by the end of the year. In an effort to help motivate and support student mastery of these standards, a badge of honor will be given to each student. Once the student has mastered three standards he/she will be given an incentive button to place on their badge of honor. Receiving the button to place on their badge of honor will be recognized as a major accomplishment. A button maker and supplies are needed for this project. Students will learn how to use the button maker and design their own buttons to place on their badge of honor.
