From madness at home to music in the classroom, our program will motivate and empower even the neediest of children. I teach PK-5th grade in a rural part of a huge urban school district. Our kids are from mostly single-family incomes, with parents struggling simply to provide food and housing. Many of our families move here because we have a maximum security prison in our town and they want to be near family members incarcerated here. They say that history repeats itself, but I say it doesn't always have to! With the right teacher and the right tools, our students are just as capable of succeeding as students in wealthier school districts.
