Junior Scholastic provides materials to my students to review relevant current events through engaging and challenging materials. Students are introduced to cultures and people from across time and around the globe, challenging their ideas of everyday life. The articles include a variety of subject areas, including Social Studies, Science, and Math.
These tiny magazines pack a punch! Students utilize key literacy skills while reading diverse articles that seem like fiction, but are actually true! Junior Scholastic also utilizes key items like infographics, graphs, and other text features to convey information. The articles allow for student discussion and debate, which is a key skill for the real world.
