STEAM education is coming to our school! Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math will all be integrated within the curriculum for the new course. Inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking will be encouraged, and creativity, good communication, and team work will be practiced in this class where students will be expected to use multi-subject knowledge to problem solve.
Littlebits STEAM Student sets will be invaluable in allowing students to explore electronic circuits in a safe, reusable, and manageable way. Students will be able to invent a self-driving vehicle, a robotic art machine, a throwing arm, and a security device. They will also be challenged to think critically and create electronic solutions to the problems they see within our classroom, invent for good, and design a cause-and-effect machine. Finally, they will be able to invent a "life hack", producing a product prototype that makes life more efficient.
This resource has the ability to reach more than 550 students this year alone, and the potential to educate thousands more in the years to come. Students will be able to work together to reach a common solution and to solve complex problems. In addition, they will be able to bring relevance to their learning. What better way to encourage collaboration, exploration, and a love for learning?!
